SCynergy 2025 is a key European forum created to foster cohesion within the European HPC ecosystem and further drive the adoption of other rapidly evolving technologies. It is organised by Supercomputing Luxembourg, jointly managed by Luxinnovation, LuxProvide – the company in charge of the MeluXina supercomputer – and the University of Luxembourg, with the support of EuroHPC JU, WeStem+, and Women in HPC.
The conference, taking place in Luxembourg from 28 to 29 April 2025 at the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, will be graced by the presence of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Luxembourg, Lex Delles (Minister of the Economy, SME, Energy and Tourism), and Stéphanie Obertin (Minister for Digitalisation, Research and Higher Education).
“HPC provides the raw computational power that AI algorithms leverage for training and execution. Quantum computing represents the next frontier, capable of addressing computational problems beyond the reach of even the most sophisticated HPC and AI systems. SCynergy provides a platform for the type of multidisciplinary discussion that actually fosters innovative thinking,” explains Mario Grotz, CEO of Luxinnovation, which coordinates the Supercomputing Luxembourg initiative.
The forum simultaneously targets researchers, economic and political decision-makers and end users, regardless of their sector of activity, and whether it is technological or not. The programme will feature a compelling blend of inspiring keynote addresses from thought leaders, insightful panel discussions offering practical real-world examples and case studies, in-depth market analyses providing strategic context, dedicated strategic networking sessions designed to foster collaboration, and around a dozen hands-on training workshops specifically aimed at equipping industry and research professionals.
The thematic discussions for the conference will cover the multisectoral applications of these advanced technologies, from finance and the expansive domain of space exploration its transformative potential within healthtech and personalised medicine.
Showcasing the AI Factory and European collaboration
This edition of SCynergy will also provide a dedicated and crucial platform to thoroughly discuss and highlight the specific activities and comprehensive services offered by the Luxembourg AI Factory. This initiative plays a key role in actively contributing to and accelerating AI-driven innovations led by a diverse range of stakeholders across Luxembourg.
The AI Factory is networked with similar initiatives in other European Union countries under the umbrella of EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. This robust and interconnected network of AI hubs will act as a one-stop-shop for startups, SMEs and researchers, who will benefit from comprehensive support, including access to AI-optimised supercomputers, enabling them to push the boundaries of innovation.
